What is Corten Steel?

Also known as "weathering steel," Corten is a unique alloy that develops a stable, protective rust-like patina when exposed to the elements. This layer eliminates the need for painting and actively prevents further corrosion, making the material incredibly durable and low-maintenance. Invisible standoff fixings:

Four invisible standoff fixings are stud welded to the back of the signs with plastic spacers inserted to give that floating look and no fixings are visible from the front of the entry and exit signs

The invisible standoff wall fixings are extremely easy to fit. Simply offer your sign to your wall and mark below each stud. Drill using an 8mm drill bit, 40mm deep into the wall and squeeze some CT1 Sealant / Adhesive into the holes. Insert your sign with plastic standoff spacers fitted to studs firmly into the holes. CT1 is commonly available from Screwfix, Tool Station and Amazon.

Choice of 2 x coloured standoff fixings, screws and raw plugs are supplied for easy placement and to create that floating look.

We start the rusting process for you and this will continue to evolve over time, creating that striking and vibrant patina glow.

The colour will change from an initial light rust and the rustic patina will develop a darker hue with time, depending on the atmospheric conditions. We are one of the few companies that actually start the rust process, as most other companies send out Corten in its original un-rusted state.
